The Jnane Nemla cooperative opened its doors in 2014 with the aim to develop fair and organic agriculture in the Tangier region (North Morocco). Its mission is to promote the use of biopesticides and the adoption of organic farming. They are focused on 2 activities:
- Raise awareness among small farmers in the region and surrounding farms of the need to respect the land by using biopesticides.
- The promotion of products (fruits, vegetables and herbs) from cooperatives and people who have difficulty selling or reaching urban markets…
Today, the cooperative’s products are CCPB certified. They work with 10 farmers and have opened a store that sells its products in baskets of 12kg (seasonal and 100% organic fruit and vegetables).
